Incheon Jaeneung University (JEIU) announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation and exchange with XenoHelix at the Songdo Campus Conference Room on June 30, 2021. Founded in 2019 by Professor Yang Sung-wook of the Department of Systems Biology at Yonsei University, XenoHelix is a venture company possessing superior molecular diagnostic technologies for early disease diagnosis. Its core businesses include developing in vitro diagnostic (IVD) kits, blood screening solutions, and animal/plant virus diagnostic products.
XenoHelix has garnered significant attention for its rapid molecular diagnostic technology, which has enabled streamlined screening operations even amid the COVID-19 pandemic. JEIU designated its Songdo Campus as a hub for training bio-environmental specialists in 2021. The Department of Songdo Bio at JEIU has been actively striving to nurture bio-industry experts by introducing molecular biology and molecular diagnostics courses—subjects directly related to XenoHelix's expertise.
Through this agreement, organic and mutual cooperation is expected, as the university will supply specialized manpower in the bio-environmental field, while the company secures a continuous pipeline of outstanding talent. At the signing ceremony, JEIU President Kwon Dae-bong stated, "We will actively cooperate with XenoHelix, a leader in molecular diagnostic technology, to cultivate specialized bio-talent and provide full support to contribute to the development of the bio sector within our local community."
Yang Sung-wook, CEO of XenoHelix, responded, "While I have visited numerous laboratories and practical training facilities at various companies and universities, I am deeply impressed by Incheon Jaeun University's exceptionally superior educational environment. We look forward to accelerating our molecular diagnostic technologies alongside the competent talent raised by JEIU, ultimately contributing to the public interest of society."
